Plantar Fasciitis is a foot condition is one of the more frustrating injuries we see here at Prima. Plantar Fasciitis is where the underneath of the foot becomes inflamed and painful to walk on. It’s mostly seen in women over the age of 40 and can be an extremely painful injury to manage.

The pain usually occurs in the morning when first weight-bearing when getting out of bed, however in some cases the pain can last all day.

Treatment for Plantar Fasciitis

Treatment modalities can differ between each person and there are lots of different advice out there from orthotics to even rolling the bottom of the foot on a golf ball.

One treatment that usually has a positive effect is deep tissue massage in the calves, this relieves tightness in this muscle group, thus relieving pressure and pain in the Plantar Fasciitis area. This may not work in every client but we feel strongly that the results we see are definitely the first port of call in treating this condition.
